Description
A late 19th century American oil on canvas seascape attributed to Edward Darley Boit, American, 1840-1915. Depicts the shores of Cotuit Beach in Cape Cod, Massachusetts with sailboats in the distance. Annotated "Cotuit", abbreviated/initialed "BT" and dated "June '87" lower left, note verso attributing work to Boit. Canvas lined, some surface grunge, discoloration and craquelure. Image 21 x 14 1/2" high, in a Gilded wood frame with slight wear, 24 1/4 x 18" high overall. ESTIMATE $800-1,200
