Striscia giornaliera del 23/11/1948 per "Pogo". Dopo essere stato licenziato dalla Disney presso la quale lavorava come disegnatore nel 1941, Kelly trovò lavoro presso la Dell Publishing e qui ideò il personaggio di Pogo, un opossum antropomorfo che esordì nel 1942 fino al 1947 quando venne interrotta la pubblicazione. Nel 1948 Kelly divenne direttore artistico del New York Star e per questa testata realizzò 30 "giornaliere pilota" per presentare l ’universo di Pogo ai lettori del giornale. Queste strisce pilota furono tutte numerate e alla fine pubblicate, sebbene non nel loro ordine originale. La nostra striscia è la rarissima n. 13, anche se fu pubblicata come quarantaquattresima striscia quotidiana. After being fired from Disney where he worked as a designer in 1941, Kelly found work at Dell Publishing and here he created the character of Pogo, an anthropomorphic opossum who debuted in 1942 until 1947 when publication was discontinued. In 1948 Kelly became art director of the New York Star and for this newspaper he created 30 "pilot newspapers" to present the Pogo universe to the newspaper ’s readers. These pilot strips were all numbered and eventually published, although not in their original order. Our strip is the very rare n. 13, even though it was published as the forty-fourth Daily comic strip.
