These Important Paintings collection all originated from one prominent collector, spanning from Lot-95 to Lot-160 (Day 1), continuing from Lot-402 to Lot-456 (Day 2).

LOT NOTES:

Tian Shiguang (1916 - 1999) was a Beijing native, living all his life in Liulang village, Haidian District. In 1933, he enrolled in the Jinghua Art Institute in Peiping, studying flower-and-bird painting. From 1937, he worked as a researcher in the Beijing Antiquities Bureau. After the founding of the People's Republic, he taught at both the Central Art Academy and the Academy of Arts and Crafts. Tian is best known for his flower-and-bird paintings, some of which have been included in the collection of the China Art Gallery.
