Impressionist landscape on Masonite board by Kanya Bugreyev (Bugreeff) of Bear Creek in Yosemite National Park, 11 in. x 14 in., framed to 15 1/2 in. x 18 1/4in, signed lower left, excellent condition.Kanya Bugreyev (1936-2019) was a well known and exhibited painter and teacher. For many years she painted in an impressionist style influenced from her studies with noted artist Sergei Bongart. She was accomplished at capturing landscape scenes as well as wonderful floral still life compositions. She was a member and exhibited at the California Art Club, Oil Painters of America, American Academy of Women Artists, Sergei Bongart Society and San Gabriel Art Association – all juried associations. She was awarded 3 gold medals from the California Art Club.
