A SUITE OF CHARLES X GOTHIC ROSEWOOD SEAT-FURNITURE Á LA CATHÉDRALE, ATTRIBUTED TO JACOB DESMALTER, C.1820, comprising a pair of fauteuils and a canapé, 170cm wide, the padded backs and seats covered in contemporary gros point needlework depicting gothic screens. Provenance: Marquess of Bute, Mount Stewart and sold Christie's, 3/7/1996, Lot 19, Works of Art from the Bute Collection A related suite of seat furniture from l'Hotel Osmond is in the Musée du Petit Palais, Paris.
