Impressive, large format engraved single-sheet plate of Coronelli’s famous map of South America with hand-coloring. This is an unusual edition of this map, produced sometime in the early 20th century, perhaps by an Italian firm known to publish such maps. All the original 1688 plates were done as two sheets pasted together—this is likely the only edition printed as a single sheet. Estimated to be about 100 years old.
