(8vo) 18x10.2 cm (7x4¼"), modern leather with natural flaws, spine ruled & lettered in gilt, raised bands, marbled endpapers; bound in Mexico. First Edition.Presentation copy inscribed in ink on the title page, "The Right Reverend Dr. Wild, With the author's most respectful compliments." The book comprises detailed observations of a British agent sent to scout the country as a possible location for colonization. The map incudes an inset with a projected canal across Nicaragua. The ad pages at rear are for Thompson's Alcedo, and are mostly taken up with a list of subscribers.

Occasional minor staining or offset within including to title page, edge wear to half-title; map with a 2 stub tear and a few marginal tears; very good in modern binding."
