The work is possibly an unfinished sketch or preparatory working painting to be finished later in the artists studio; this might account for it not being signed. There are obvious influences from Edgar Degas (1834-1917) and his love of capturing ballet dancers; the palette of colors used by the artist also shows this influence. Further research is required into the paintings authorship. Well presented in this ornate gilt frame and looking superb.
