Description
The Roman legion soldier stands looking to the horizon of a scarred battlefield. He is nude except for wearing some items of soldier regalia. Atop his head, he wears a galea, which is a soldier hat. Down his back falls a paludamentum, which is a long cloak fastened over one shoulder, usually signifying the commander status. In his right hand, he carries a spear the left hand bearing a shield. This bronze sculpture was cast using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for preservation and mounted upon a marble base. Dimensions: Height 12 X Width 6 inches. Weight: 10 LBS.
