A pair of Chinese famille rose garden stools

19th century

Each with highly decorative horror vacui designs, featuring central roundels with 'phoenix chasing a flaming pearl' motifs to each side. (2).

H: 17 7/8, Dia: 13 7/8 in. (H: 45.40, Dia: 35.24 cm. (each))

Provenance: From Mrs. Lee, Davis, California. A family heirloom. Lot 1 to 5, Lot 36 to 82, and Lot 214 to 219 are from the same collector.

Both with firing defects and chipping to foot and underside, also with areas of glaze loss and wear.
