Native American, Southwestern United States, Zuni Pueblo, Apache, ca. mid to late 20th century CE. An assorted collection of 11 Native American folk-art and toys beadwork - 3 tiny dolls, 6 moccasins, a miniature bark canoe, and a child's resin bead necklace. The moccasins are attached to discoidal rosettes - 2 have safety pins attached for wearing as a brooch. The beading is threaded and sewn to felt and leather. The doll charms could be attached to cords or pins for wearing as charms. Figurines and moccasins were made by various tribes in the USA, although this type of doll charm is usually attributed to Zuni artists. The miniature doll charms were successful and popular souvenirs through the 1940s and 1960s.
