Two French Grenadier's Hangers The First Late 18th Century, The Second Dated 1806 The first with curved single-edged blade etched 'GRENADIER' above a flaming grenade along one side at the forte, and with foliated monogram above a flaming grenade on the other, struck beneath the guard on one side with initials 'E' and 'R', and etched with D'alsace manufactory details along the back, brass hilt with langets extending into the ribbed grip, and with large tang button, in its black leather scabbard (some wear and minor damage) with linear engraved brass locket and chape; the second with curved single-edged blade fullered along the back on each side, the forte on both sides incised with running hound mark and the date, and brass hilt similar to the last, in original black leather scabbard (some wear and loss of finish) with brass locket and chape, the latter (some damage) with spherical terminal (2) 59 cm. and 54 cm. blades For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
