A Napoleonic Light Cavalry Officer's Sabre First Empire (1804-1814) With bright curved fullered blade double-edged towards the point, the forte over both sides etched and gilt with trophies and foliage against a blued ground, brass hilt chased with foliage on one side and comprising ovoidal langets, downbent button quillon, knuckle-guard hooked into the mouth of the lion-mask pommel, and wooden grip (minor chip) chequered over both sides, in its brass scabbard with panels along the outer side embossed respectively with a martial trophy, a female figure and a neo-classical mask all within punched foliate borders, the back punched with small circles, foliate frog-button, and two rings for suspension (throat-mount missing) 82.4 cm. blade For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com For further information about this lot please visit the lot listing
