A Rare Officer's Helmet Of Prince Albert's Own Corp Of Norfolk Yeomanry Circa 1840-49 The black japanned skull and comb with full gilt-brass fittings, the frontal plate of post 1837 pattern with title scroll below 'PRINCE ALBERT OWN CORPS', black horsehair plume, velvet-lined (partly loose) brass chinchain on lion-mask supports, original quilted brown cotton sweatband and lining, peaks lined in green leather, and in very fine condition Footnotes: Provenance Gerald Shapiro Thomas Del Mar In association with Sotheby's, Olympia, 8 December 2010, lot 95 The Norfolk Yeomanry adopted helmets of this pattern in 1843, and was disbanded in 1894.
