The obverse features a laureate head of a young deified Julius Caesar, with a comet with a tail above his head, symbolizing the celestial event that reportedly occurred shortly after Caesar's death in 44 B.C.E. Inscribed is "M. SANQVINIVS III VIR". On the reverse, a herald of the games is depicted holding a caduceus and shield, with the inscription "AVGVST DIVI F LVDOS SAE", commemorating the 'Ludi Sae Cularer' or the Secular Games held in 17 B.C.E. by Augustus to mark a new age brought by Divine Julius Caesar and his heir.
