Daniel Webster (1782-1852) emerged as one of the greatest orators and most influential statesmen in the United States in the early 19th century. As an attorney, he argued several landmark cases before the Supreme Court that expanded the power of the federal government. A dedicated nationalist, Webster was elected to multiple terms in the House of Representatives and the Senate, where he represented Massachusetts, and twice served as U.S. secretary of state. A very good, SCARCE COPY of Daniel Webster's 1836 speech-- 16 pp. original self-wrappers, stitched as issued. Slight creasing to edge. Housed in a half-leather, custom-made folder.
