This book follows At the Little Brown House and continues the adventures of Peace Greenfield and her sisters. Under the firm guidance of Grandpa Campbell, Peace becomes more mature, although there is enough of the 'old' Peace to keep the story interesting. Her dear friend, the Lilac Lady, finds healing of soul and spirit as Peace spreads sunshine and happiness by doing what "just comes of itself."
