Item Details
Description
A 1950s Hemosch archtop guitar in sunburst finish. Owned and played by Randy Bachman, who has sold 40 million records worldwide as a member of The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and as a solo artist.
Hemosch, short for Heinrich Moritz Schuster, was a German distributor. While the guitar does wear a red “He Mo Sch” label on its interior, its true maker is unknown. Randy speculates it was made by Herbert Todt.
There is also a dealer tag mounted on the back of the headstock which reads “Chemnitzer Musik-Centrale, Das führende Fachgeschäft Karl-Marx-Stadt,” which translates to “Chemnitzer Music Center, the leading specialty store, Karl Marx City.”
A maple neck with a decorative headstock face of white, black, and grey pearloid materials, a white-and-black nut with zero fret, and a bound 21-fret rosewood neck with dual triangle inlays. A carved spruce top with sunburst finish and multi-ply binding, sickle-style sound holes, and a pickguard which matches the design of the headstock. Flame maple back and sides. Adjustable ebony bridge, harp tailpiece, Rellog pickup mounted to neck.
Includes soft-shell case.
