Description

Cal. 44. S# 172536. Bbl. shortened to 4 3/8" with a New York address. German silver blade front sight. The loading lever is shortened to correspond with bbl. length. Six-shot round-refunded cyl. Blue finish with a case-colored frame and brass trigger guard. Bbl., frame, grip straps, and wedge match. The cyl. is unnumbered with "F" and "O" inspection marks. 1 piece of ivory grips. Civilian revolver mfg. in 1869. CONDITION: bbl. and cyl. retain 70% worn reblued finish showing scratches, dents, and spots of corrosion. Cyl. has no remaining scene. The backstrap and frame have faded to gray. The right panel of the grip has a yellowed appearance with a length-wise crack 1" behind the frame. Both grip panels show age-checking with small chips at the toe. Bbl. retains lightly worn rifling, showing small spots of light pitting. Sound action. (01-24357/DS). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,500.
