Description
This fantastic antique silver plate condiment caddy is made by Padley, Parkin & Staniforth (1855-1875 Sheffield). The center is an angel holding some sort of garland and draped in a cloth. The edges are adorned with etched scroll detail and it stands on ball feet. The bottom is very clearly hallmarked with the English Registry indicating I, materials is metal; B indicating 1859; E indicating May with the date being the 17th; and the number 4, Parcel number for PP&S which is also stamped below the registry mark. This is a very beautiful piece that can be used as a centerpiece or even to hold trinkets. Approx measures 7 1/4" x 12" 9 1/2".
Condition
Does not have glass inserts, shows plate loss on figural, overall still in very good condition.
