[LINCOLN, Abraham (1809-1865)]. Tri-colored 1864 campaign cockade with Lincoln ferrotype at center.
Approx. 2 1/4 in. diameter cockade constructed of concentric red, blue, and white silk ruffles, with approx. 5/8 in. ferrotype of Lincoln at center surmounted by "A. Lincoln," and with 3 ribbons fastened below image, a blue ribbon bearing the black text "Union," a center ribbon of white stars on a blue background, and a white ribbon bearing the text "Constitution." Length with ribbons approx. 3 3/4 in.
Wear and some soil, ribbons creased with fraying at edges, ribbons fragile.
