1957, Scuderia Ferrari, road book Mille Miglia 1957 from the personal property of Piero Taruffi, 47 pages (complete), 23.5x15.5cm, in chronology order of the races the Mille Miglia was the third event of the sports car world championship, Piero Taruffi drove like his teammate Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips in a Ferrari 315 S (#0684), already before the race the promoters were criticize because of the safety for drivers and spectators, the Mille Miglia 1957 was in the last phase, as the fatal accident of Alfonso de Portago and his co-driver Edmund Nelson happened, till Rome Peter Collins was dominating the race with his Ferrari 335S but almost 200 km before the finish of the race his differential was damaged and he had to quit the race, thsi was the hour of Piero Taruffi who was already 51 years old , Taruffi took in 1933 already a third place for the Scuderia Ferrari, and drove his battered 315 Sport with "kid gloves"to his first overall victory, , historically very interesting document, museum quality

In der Reihenfolge der Rennen war die Mille Miglia der dritte Wertungslauf der Sportwagen Weltmeisterschaft. Piero Taruffi startete wie sein Teamkollege Wolfgang Graf Berghe von Trips auf einem Ferrari 315 S (#0684), schon vor dem Rennen war es zu erheblicher Kritik an den Veranstaltern betreffend der Sicherheit von Fahrern und Zuschauern gekommen. Die Mille Miglia 1957 ging in ihre Endphase, als es zum fatalen Unfall von Alfonso de Portago und seinem Beifahrer Edmund Nelson kam. Bis Rom dominierte Peter Collins auf seinem Ferrari 335S das Rennen musste aber knapp 200 km vor dem Ziel das Rennen wegen einem Differenzialschaden aufgeben. Nun schlug die Stunde des schon 51 Jahre alten Piero Taruffi. Taruffi, der schon 1933 einen dritten Platz für die Scuderia Ferrari erreichen konnte, steuerte seinen angeschlagen 315 Sport mit „Samthandschuhen“ zu seinem ersten Gesamtsieg.
