Description
A Quimbaya Slab Figure Colombia, c. 1000-1200 AD Large rectangular earthenware slab with attached thick arms and legs, each limb grooved in bands, fingers and toes indicated. Grooved separating torso from head which has long slit eyes and mouth, and a large raised nose. In very good, intact condition, horizontal repair across neck visible on the back. Scattered white mineral deposits, black firing cloud on right side of head original to the piece. Permanently attached to a base.
