Description German WWII SS SA Ernst Rohm Honor Dagger manufactured by Carl Eickhorn of Solingen with a 8.75" blade and a 13.75" overall length outside of the scabbard. This dagger was ordered in Honor of the Chief of Staff between 1931-1934 and bears his personal dedication "In herzlicher Kameradschaft, Ernst Rohm", (In Cordial Comradeship, Ernst Rohm). These daggers were attained in one of two ways, one was ordered for all officers and members of the SA or SS without interruption since the 31st of December 1931. The other order was was awarded to members of the SA/SS who transferred directly from Hitler youth. After Ernst Rohm's assassination on June 30th 1934, it was ordered on July 4th 1934, that the Ernst Rohm inscription either be obliterated off of the dagger or the entire dagger be destroyed. A large portion of the inscription was destroyed off this dagger with much of the top half still being partially visible (see photos). The other side of the blade bears the blade motto "Meine Ehre heisst Treue" (My honor is loyalty). This dagger features nickel plated pommel and guard. Ebony wood grip with "SS" and Third Reich Eagle inlays. Black finished metal scabbard with nickel accents and center ramp. Also included is the clover leaf with clip, but is missing the chains and leather loop. Non gun ships directly to buyers home. Condition: Good/Very good with scratches, scuffs, and general wear on the blade from handling and use. Grind marks on the blade for deletion of the dedication. The motto, manufacturer logo, and serial are still crisp. One small nick towards the bottom side of the blade. Some spots of metal oxidation and dried oil. Light scratches, scuffs, and dings on the wood grips. Some green oxidation on the silver inlays. Speckling of metal oxidation on the scabbard. Scratches and dings from handling.
