[GAMES - GAMBLING COUNTERS]
A set of fine silver-gilt-mounted mother-of-pearl game tokens and counters. 19th century. The set comprises two engraved silver gilt stands with hinged rectangular mother-of-pearl incrementals, two fish-shaped tokens with incised details, and eighteen round tokens. The set is housed in a case with a fitted velvet and silver string-lined interior, and a dark brown morocco leather exterior with a gilt-stamped border, measuring 6 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 inches (17 x 12 x 5.5 cm). silver gilt is a bit dulled with some tarnished spots, a few hairline cracks to the mother of pearl, the velvet lining in the case is dulled and toned, and the lid of the case is detached, lacking the hook of the hooka and eye clasp, a few spots of wear to the leather, manuscript collections number to the bottom of the case.
