Vintage French Louis XVI Figural Bronze Ormolu Chest Commode Styled After Benneman
This is an impressive and exquisite large French Louis XVI style, beautifully detailed figural bronze ormolu mounted 2 drawer and 2 door commode. The gorgeous, thick, molded, and shaped green Italian marble top sits on a conforming gilt bronze mounted frieze and is decorated in a laurel leaf and foliage motif. It is fitted with 2 drawers placed above 2 veneered doors that are joined together by a centered bronze medallion which depicts a mask, surrounded with spears and quivers with foliate boughs. The entire piece is supported by finely crafted bronze lion's feet sabots and styled after Benneman.
