Louis Comfort Tiffany incorporated grapevines in a wide variety of windows, lamps, desk sets, mosaics and vases throughout his important career. Although all things made by Tiffany were spectacular in their own right, the leaded glass shades were the most noteworthy. Tiffany made two models of the Grape Trellis chandelier, and this is the only known Grape Trellis table lamp to exist.

The grape clusters done in scarlet and purple glass are hanging from patinated bronze vines interspersed with teal, green and russet-streaked green foliage. Encompassing the top section of the shade is a radiant sunset sky of red, orange, yellow and blue. The Trellis portion of the shade is constructed of dore bronze, which embodies its true naturalistic presence, simulating a textured wood finish.

The shade in very good overall condition with approximately 10 hairline cracks dispersed throughout. The base in very good overall condition and retains the original sockets.
