ARMY REVOLVER WITH BOX. Cal. 45 Colt. S# 6102SA. Bbl. 5 1/2". Second Generation Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1956 (first year of second generation production). Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45", with Colt's single line address marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by the Rampant Colt logo. Frame and loading gate exhibit a case colored finish, with remaining metal components exhibiting a blue finish overall. Sides of hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered black synthetic grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, as well as the trigger guard and rear grip strap (beneath left grip panel). Grips are matching via "3102", which is inscribed on the interior of the panels. Matching assembly # "138" is present on the frame, loading gate, and cyl. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt wood grain factory box with mostly illegible end label. CONDITION: frame and loading gate retain the majority of their original case colored finish, showing light edge wear, with some spots/areas of light to mild fading, and a few scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Blued parts retain the majority of their original finish, showing some areas of mild wear and thinning that have faded to a gray patina, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting scattered spots of hardened grease, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, with tight lock up. Grips show some light checkering wear and some light superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. Box is in poor condition, exhibiting numerous tears and taped repairs, with both end flaps having torn off, but remaining present. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Norm Greenberg Collection. (25-4139/MLW).
