REVOLVER. Cal. 45 (45 Colt). S# 24633SA. Bbl. 4 3/4". Second Generation Single Action Army revolver mfg. by Colt in 1959. Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY" followed by what appears to be a poorly stamped ".45", with Colt's single line address marked across the top. Frame is mounted with Colt 2-piece checkered brown synthetic grips. Standard SAA pattern blade front sight and frame notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., as well as the trigger guard and rear grip strap (beneath left grip panel). Grips are matching via a handwritten "633" on the interior of the panels. Matching assembly # "474" is present on the frame and loading gate. CONDITION: frame, loading gate, and hammer retain the majority of their original case colored finish, showing some spots of fading, as well as some spots of light surface oxidation and age related discoloration overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few scattered spots of light surface oxidation, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, with tight lock up. Grips are very good overall, with a few superficial handling marks. (25-5773/MLW). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
