
Description
The 1st- a document from New Orleans, dated 7 Aug 1856, discussing a slave named "Robert Berry", who was sold with a full guarantee and was "found unsound", likely signed by William Laurens Poole as Notary Public. (sight size, 9.5" x 7.75", with old glue (?) stains, with some holes in paper). The second document is also from New Orleans, and is dated May 23rd, 1840. It concerns the sale of an enslaved person names Eliza (illegible, please see photos, name is underlined in original text, note particularly photo #7).
