Description
Jun ware stem cup - This Jun ware stem cup boasts a distinctive design: the cup mouth takes a six-lobed sunflower form, with curved walls and a deep belly, supported by a tall bamboo-joint-shaped stem, creating an elegant and upright silhouette. The entire piece is covered in a sky-blue glaze, as smooth and lustrous as a clear sky after rain. The interior and exterior of the cup are adorned with several splashes of purplish-red kiln transmutation glazes, rich and radiant like flowing evening clouds, seamlessly blending with the sky-blue base glaze. At the thinly glazed rim, a subtle reddish-brown tone emerges, while the exposed stem reveals a firm, dark brown clay body. Combining the sunflower-shaped mouth, the transformative kiln glazes, and the tall stem design, this piece embodies the magical charm of Jun ware—"one color enters the kiln, but ten thousand colors emerge." It is a fine example of Yuan Dynasty Jun ware, ideal for scholarly display or as a wine vessel.
