The obverse features the head of Liberty facing left, wearing a cap inscribed with the word LIBERTY, surrounded by 13 stars with the date 1836 below. The reverse depicts an eagle with a shield on its chest, clutching arrows in its left talon and an olive branch in its right, with a banner above inscribed E PLURIBUS UNUM. The surrounding legend reads UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, with the denomination 50 C. at the bottom. This coin represents the Capped Bust design used in early 19th-century U.S. coinage. The coin is in a clear plastic envelope.
