The obverse features the head of Liberty facing left, wearing a cap inscribed with LIBERTY, encircled by 13 stars, with the date 1837 positioned below. The reverse displays an eagle with a shield on its chest, holding arrows in the right talon and an olive branch in the left, surrounded by the inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and the denomination 50 CENTS below. Reeded edge design present. The coin is in a clear plastic envelope.
