
A George III cased set of thirty-six silver and agate handled dessert knives and forks, together with a serving knife and fork forks, Robert Peppin, the knives, probably Sydenham William Peppin, London 1817 Comprising: eighteen knives and eighteen forks, with a serving knife and serving fork, each knife blade with engraved crest, 'a hawk argent, collared, legged and billed gules, the dexter foot supporting a shield azure, charged with a fleur de lis or.', all contained in a red leather fitted cased, with lift out compartment housing the forks. (38) Footnotes: This is the crest associated with the arms of Henry BOULTON Esq. previously Henry CRABB landowner of Gibbon (later Given) Grove Hall and Estate, Leatherhead Surrey. He was born at Bishop's Gate, London the son and heir of captain Richard CRABB (1710-1777) shipowner involved in the trade with India by his wife Frances HEAMES (1717-1771). In 1774 he married Juliana RAYMOND (1753-1813) daughter of Charles RAYMOND (1713-1788) of Valentine's House, Ilford, Essex by his wife Sarah WEBSTER (1721-1778).
