John F. Kennedy original 7 x 5” period color photograph depicting the fleet of boats during the Newport Yacht Races, taken during the summer of 1963. The image was captured by R. L. Knudsen, PHC, USN, of the Office of the Naval Aide to the President, and bears Knudsen’s printed credit on the verso along with a handwritten caption by Malcolm Kilduff reading “Newport Yacht Races, Summer, 1963.”
The photograph documents one of President Kennedy’s well-known leisure trips to Newport, Rhode Island, reflecting his lifelong passion for sailing and maritime culture.
