Description
Clean and Original Late 19th Century Humidor.
Likely English Market - constructed of lovely grained woods with a "crowned" curved top, tin and copper lining, brass fittings, and nickel / metal hinges.
And...important...unusual...it is NOT monogrammed!
The nice copper plaque at top center is blank - ready for a new personalization as you think best.
Further, the finish on the wooden box itself is very clear - no clouds, scratches, or water stains of note. Rare for a humidor of this vintage,
10.5" long by 7" deep by 4" tall.
Has a nice key closure but does not have original key - easy to source a replacement if desired.
In keeping with Aesop's fable, Fox and Crow's Motto is "Beware of False Flattery!" So, with each listing we offer a true confession about the item...
One of our favorite things to do for wedding and anniversary gifts is to source a wonderful antique item - silver, pewter or wooden boxes, drink ware, desk items, vanity accessories - that are NOT monogrammed and splurge on a new hand-engraving.
It is the perfect mix of fine quality and a fresh new dedication. Makes the recipients smile every time, and brings new life to a splendid old thing.
This box is ready to roll! An heirloom, anew!
