FINE VIKING WOMAN'S WEDDING RING, SIZE 5 1/4

Description

Size 5 1/4. Late 9th-early 11th century AD. Gilt bronze, 3.5mm band with raised edges flaking the low rounded field. Made by casting with a central core to distribute the heat and metal. The core was then laboriously removed by hand with remnants showing. Surface textured from burial. Professionally refurbished with the 24karat gold surface restored. See the reference image which shows the process. Gift boxed with a certificate of authenticity.
