Bushnell, Governor, appointing Charles Becht as Captain in the First Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, dated May 7, 1898, with signatures, handwritten entries, and a gold seal. The reverse side is a "Certificate of Mustering Officer," dated Columbus, Ohio, May 14, 1898, certifying Charles Becht's service, with handwritten text and signatures.
