This original uncut poster proof was produced to advertise the 1969 Sky River Rock Festival, held on Labor Day weekend from August 30th to September 1st, 1969, on Rainier Hereford Ranch in Tenino, Washington. It was the second annual Sky River festival, held at a different location from the first. The lineup featured Flying Burrito Bros, Country Joe, Dan Hicks, James Cotton, Dick Gregory, Kaleidoscope, Mississippi Fred McDowell, The Steve Miller Band, New Lost City Ramblers, Country Weather, Pacific Gas & Electric, Billy Roberts, Sons of Champlin, Mark Spoelstra, and more. The festival almost never happened, as the local court tried to stop the festival due to public complaints. The State Supreme Court over stepped them to allow it at the last minute on the day before it was set to open.
