French firefighter helmet Model 1885 - Military helmet.French firefighter helmet, Model 1885 type 'Campagnard', originating from the Sapeurs-Pompiers of the commune of Lion-d'Angers (Maine-et-Loire department, Pays de la Loire region).This model was worn during the Third Republic (1870-1940), mainly by fire brigades from smaller municipalities.The helmet is made of brass, with a pressed front plate featuring the classic emblem of the French fire brigade: a flame grenade ('bombe enflammée') surrounded by laurel leaves, with a ribbon at the bottom bearing the inscription.Firefighters of Lion d'Angers.The comb features the typical 'campagnard' design with stylized flame decorations and decorative floral motifs.Without internal mechanism, not complete.
