Description
An Arts and Crafts oak refectory table in the Yorkshire taste, produced by the Somma workshop of New York between 1900 and 1930 to compete with the work of Stickley. The rectangular top is composed of beautifully grained quarter-sawn oak boards arranged in a geometric pattern and framed with mitered borders, above turned and fluted legs resting on block feet. The table retains a warm, inviting finish that highlights the rich figuring of the oak. With the leaves extended it measures approximately 30" H x 120 1/4" W x 34" D; with the leaves down it measures 30" H x 66" W x 34" D. Remains in good overall condition, with a dollar-sized spot to the top and minor discoloration to the finish.
