A late 19th century gem tintype photograph album containing coin-sized tintype portraits housed within a small leather-bound volume. The album features a gold-tone clasp and an embossed cover design, with the spine labeled “Album” accented by gold-tone detailing. Each page contains four oval-cut windows displaying photographs of women, men, and children of various ages. The first page is titled “Album” in ornate lettering surrounded by gold-tone scrollwork. Manufactured by J. E. Tilton & Co. of Boston. The surface retains a worn, aged patina throughout. Measures approximately 3 1/2″ H x 3 1/4″ W. Exhibits age-appropriate wear including spine separation and two missing photographs.
