A 19th century Southern painted blanket chest in brown, featuring a hinged lid above a dovetailed case construction. The surface retains a worn, aged patina that reflects its utilitarian history and regional craftsmanship. Measures approximately 22 3/4″ H x 47 1/2″ W x 19″ D. Exhibits age-appropriate wear to the surface and paint; the hinged lid is not currently attached to the chest, with separation noted near the back left hinge.
