19th Century Ferrotype Portrait of Man

Description

A 19th century tintype (ferrotype) studio portrait depicting a well-dressed gentleman posed before a painted backdrop showing a house on a hill with trees. The sitter is staged with a faux snow-covered fence, with simulated snow applied to the figure for a winter effect. The verso is inscribed “Mr. Owen.” Exhibits an aged patina. Measures approximately 3 1/4″ H x 2 1/8″ W. In good condition with age-appropriate wear consistent with period photographic materials.
