French Brass Repousse Comtoise Clock

Description

A 19th century French brass repoussé Comtoise clock executed in the Rococo Revival style, signed by the maker Louis Chauchet and bearing provenance to Aux Moutiers-les-Mauxfaits. The case displays finely worked floral and scrolling motifs in high relief, accented by vibrant polychromed elements. The hand-painted dial complements the richly ornamented surround, creating a striking decorative presence. Measures approximately 17″ H x 11 3/8″ W x 6 1/4″ D. Untested. Exhibits general wear including bends to the metal and age-appropriate surface condition.
