A whimsical figural porcelain flask by Schafer & Vater, modeled as a standing man and designed to humorously indicate a person’s level of “dryness.” The hat doubles as a cork stopper. The front is inscribed “1 Drink, Very Dry, Normal” on the left and “2 Drinks, Thirst, Dry” on the right, with “Drinkometer” at the base. The reverse reads “Use it daily You'll live gaily,” with the number 2962 below, and the underside is stamped “Made in Germany.” Exhibits an aged patina. Measures approximately 6 3/4″ H x 2 7/8″ W x 1 1/2″ D. Shows light surface wear; thermometer is missing.
