Edwin O. Scheier (1910-2008) and Mary Goldsmith Scheier (1908-2007), Durham, New Hampshire. Partly-Glazed Brown Stoneware Vase, Late 1950s-1960s. Of chalice form, decorated in sgraffito around the middle with a wide band of cat-type figures, each wide open mouth surrounded by an inverted tooth border and enclosing a male and female figure, the pairs communicating with varied hand gestures and each joined by a pair of hands between their foreheads, the rim and lower half of the vase covered in cream and blue glaze speckled in dark blue, signed "Scheier."
