.36 Cal. 7.5" barrel length. SN: 124588. (Mfg. ca 1862) Blued and casehardened finish with brass gripstraps mounting one piece walnut grips, with sights consisting of a worn down brass front bead and hammer rear notch. Single action six shot percussion revolver featuring an octagonal barrel and loading lever. Top of the barrel struck in a single line ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA. and the left frame in two lines COLTS/PATENT. Cylinder shows extant COLTS PATENT mark and weakened Orsmby Naval Engagement roll engraving. Serial numbers match on barrel, frame, gripstraps, arbor pin, cylinder, loading lever, and wedge pin. Loading lever wedge is replaced, and has a replaced retaining pin. Butt is engraved with the initials F.H.M. {ANTIQUE}
Condition
Good. Bore is Frosty with some pitting and strong rifling. Metal finish shows some traces of blue on the rear barrel with the majority of the finish showing a deep brown patina. Forward edges of the barrel are worn down, with some nicks on the edges. Item exhibits a light amber patina to gripstraps. Grips with some handling scuffs, dents, and abrasions. Action is functional.
