
Two Civil War Import Socket Bayonets and A Post-Civil War Pike Head
1) Bannerman Pike Head, made from a US M1855 socket bayonet blade. 17.5" blade, 6.5" crude iron crossguard, 8.25" tin socket. Overall length 26.25". Fair condition with a rusty and pitted blade.
2) Austrian M1854 Lorenz Socket Bayonet with US "Oval Throat" 2-rivet scabbard for Austrian and Prussian bayonets. 19" quadrangle blade, 3.2" socket missing the locking ring with helical mortise cut. Overall length 22.375". Bayonet about Fair with moderate rust and some pitting and missing the locking ring. Scabbard Fair with moderate wear and finish loss.
3) British Commercial Pattern 1853 Enfield Socket Bayonet by Preston. 18" blade, 3" blued socket with locking ring, overall length 21". About Fair, with surface rust on the blade, locking ring intact, socket with numerous impact marks and dings.
