
**Erfurt 1918 Luger P.08 Pistol
World War I
9mm Para. 3.9" barrel length. SN: 2360p. Blued metal finish with straw colored and nitre blued small parts mounting checkered walnut grips. Short recoil operated striker action toggle locked autoloading pistol fed by detachable single stack magazines. Barrel extension is dated 1918 with toggle link showing ERFURT maker marking. Item shows Imperial German {Reichsadler} markings to right barrel extension, to barrel, and on breechblock. Item further shows Gothic letter inspection stamps to major parts. Serial numbers match on the majority of components, including the grips, but the firing pin is a non-numbered and non-fluted replacement. Nickel plated magazine has a refinished wood base plug showing a weak nonmatching serial number. {C&R}

Condition
Good. Bore is dirty with some residues that should clean to Bright or better with sharp rifling throughout. Metal finish displays brown patina forming on the edges, some flaking, and scratches. Gripstraps with a deeper brown patina. Grips are stained with abrasions and some loss of checkering. Magazine shows a weak nickel finish with most having flaked off leaving a gray patina behind. Magazine base plug has been sanded and refinished.
